PADI Dive-masters and OWSI.. join us on board a luxury giant CAT, we head for the tropics during the NZ winter. On the way up Dive Masters and OWSI are taught how to run a Dive/Tourism business based on a new business model. If you a DM or an OWSI you can join us, but this is not FREE, the trip will cost you around $1995 per week.  The 1 or 2 week Dive Academy Course is for those who want to start a dive/tourism business. OWSI instructors who complete the Dive Academy course may be offered the opportunity to join this network and start a dive/tourism business in NZ or elsewhere. DM's may be offered the opportunity to work with an existing instructor or you can start your business offering discover scubas and underwater photography.

The Vagabond sail boat can take a maximum of 12-14 people, we have room for two couples. The price includes food, accommodation and course fee. Learn how to run a dive/tourism business this coming summer season...

I started the nztramp.com business 5 years ago from the back of my van in The Bay of Islands on around $5k of capital. I was a brand new PADI instructor when I started.. yes no-one thought I could make it. I now have a business worth over $100k, operate a dive boat, have new dive gear and have setup and dived the best areas of NZ.. incl The Poor Knights. Next season I will be on target to easily earn on average several thousand $$'s a week. This winter (AUG) I am sailing up to New Caledonia from NZ and will explain how you too can start and run your own dive business. The formula has been proven and any astute person can apply it (earn ~ $3-5k week peak season). If you are looking for a seasonal job/small salary this is not for you. If you think you could run your own dive business and have next season (Nov to April) free, then you could join me diving The Poor Knights NZ or run diving for Bay of Islands. Interested ? Couples can apply.. also Dive Masters could have a stake with an OWSI. A bit about nztramp.com....

NZtramp.com is very different to other dive/tourism operators, we have developed a totally different business strategy  ? We are the only dive/tourism business that is truly mobile, we use the latest technology including mobile phones, laptops with broadband and vans equipped with screens and DVD players so our customers can learn as we travel. We lease accommodation for our course students to stay in during the peak summer season only. During winter months when most other dive shops make losses we shut down and switch to doing other profitable activities in warmer locations.

During the NZ summer, we sell diving/tours from our branded mobile sales outlets parked in the best tourist hot-spots, we keep overheads low and prices competitive, we have the best brand exposure, using digital signage installed in retail shops, backpackers etc.  We also forge strategic partnerships with other tour operators who want to capitalise on our mobile sales force. We always aim to offer tourists a safe and exceptional valued experience so that they tell others.

What the Academy Offers You..

Those who join the academy will receive real-life business training geared towards starting a dive/tourism business (NOT Retail Shop based). We will take you through initial planning, including financial spreadsheet predictions, researching various locations, testing the market, researching competitors, formulating your business strategy, equipment purchase etc.. The business training will include seminars on various topics including marketing, finance, I.T. sales/advertising and business planning/strategy.

The Vagabond..

On-board the luxury CAT which will have its own Dive Compressor, you will experience diving the very best locations in NZ and the tropics.. including The Coromandel, The Poor Knights, Bay  of Islands, Three Kings and then onto the warm tropics.. New Caledonia to dive amazing tropical reefs.  The course is a combination of classroom learning as we sail, practical exercises and practical team exercises/experience.. plus good food/wine etc.

You will have ample opportunity to ask questions and learn. You will also be tested, practical exercises will be given to prepare you for starting your own dive/tourism business. If you complete the training period and complete the practical exercises to a high standard you will be invited to join the nztramp business network. You may elect to run a dive/tourism business in another country (e.g. uktramp) or join the existing NZ network. 

The course runs over the NZ winter on-board the luxury CAT from Aug 2008 to Oct/Nov 2008. Spaces are very limited and will be offered to those meeting the acceptance criteria given below and pay an up-front deposit of $1000 you can also join us in New Caledonia (Noumea) (fly in/fly out):
